The quartet, mentored by Tulisa Contostavlos, went on to win the series – the first group to do so on the UK version.

Since their triumph on the music competition, they have gone from strength-to-strength and became the first girl group to have five top five studio albums in the UK, following their 2020 release, Confetti.

Sad: 2021 may have seen the girls celebrate their tenth anniversary – but it also marked an end of an era as they announced they would be going on a hiatus

The girl band have been nominated in the Best Group category at the 2022 BRIT Awards, just weeks after they announced their break.

They go up against the likes of Coldplay and London Grammar and will no doubt want to emulate their success from last year in which they won the prize for the first time.

The nomination also sees the girls recognised as a trio for the first time since Jesy’s exit from the band last December.

Exciting: The band's 2022 Brit nomination will see the girls recognised as a trio for the first time since Jesy's (pictured earlier this month) exit from the band last December
