The General Secretary of the SP Damian Gjiknuri held a meeting with the structures of this political force in Thessaloniki. As he informed them about the developments in our country, Gjiknuri emphasized that Semazhoranca has done a lot for Albanians not only in Albania, but also for the community in Greece.

“Saliu and Iliri are joining. They are the old ones, the misfortunes that come at the feet of this people. You can’t change his mind. That is a fact we have to deal with from now on. This government has done a lot. The thing is: are we the best? Are we the best? I believe that is. Should we be much better? Goodness has no limits. But think what you have on the other side! You, like many other Albanians, must be a barrier to any kind of unexpected, which only harms Albania”. he said.

Number 2 of the Socialists underlined that the SP has paid special attention to immigrants. Gjiknuri further added that it was precisely the SP that worked hard for immigrants to gain the right to vote and be an important voice in decision-making.

“A lot has been done for the diaspora. The fact that the Socialist Party fought hard to include your vote, to make it a part, to make it easy for you to vote where you are, will make you an important factor. There are thousands and thousands here in Greece and Italy. “Imagine if 40,000 Albanians living in Greece are active in voting, you determine the fate of the elections,” he said.

Gjiknuri invited the Albanian community living and working in Greece for greater participation in political life, as he emphasized that they will always find an open door in the SP.

“The activation of people in politics can bring benefits in two directions: First, in the direction that you influence Albanian politics more and the Socialist Party welcomes you with open arms. Second, I am convinced that a part of you, who have dual Greek and Albanian citizenship, having political activism, will affect Albania’s relations with Greece. We are fighting hard as a government to make mutual recognition of social security contributions for pensions”, underlined Damian Gjiknuri./broread
