The European Commission evaluates the reforms in the new enlargement package
Next Wednesday Enlargement Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi officially presents the new enlargement package before the EP Foreign Affairs Committee in Brussels and then at a press conference.
According to the annual progress report, Albania has a positive grade for reforms, while position-opposition cooperation is required in the voting of integration laws that require a qualified majority. The commissioner makes repeated calls to eliminate political polarization.
According to him, the speed of the negotiation process depends mainly on Albania and the political will for reforms within the country. The EU appreciates the alignment of the Albanian foreign policy with the European one in the imposition of sanctions against Russia.
