“Only 22 families evacuated”

The water from the flooded areas in the north is being withdrawn and this is due to the few discharges that are being made by the cascade of hydropower plants.

“There are no more emissions at the Koman hydropower plant, and at the Vauto Deja hydropower plant, the emissions are minimal.”

The Minister of Defense reports with figures on the areas under water and the families that are still evacuated in Shkodra and Lezha Districts.

“The most affected areas are the administrative units of Ana e Mali, Dajç, Velipojë, Guri i Zi, Bërdica, as well as neighborhoods 14 and 1 and Oboti. 22 families were evacuated. In the Municipality of Lezhë, the most affected areas are the Dajç, Blinisht and Balldren units where there are 4 apartments with the presence of water”.

But now the flood situation in the south of the country is becoming critical, the authorities claim that they are keeping the Vjosa river under observation, while several other rivers have increased flows.

Peleshi admits that the situation of reservoirs in which the municipalities under administration have not made investments is problematic.

“600 reservoirs that, as a precaution for rehabilitation investment, their reconstruction has been…leaves a lot to be desired, there have been few allocated funds”.

Peleshi declares that there is no national road blocked.
