Rama and Kurt’s messages for the 110th anniversary of Independence

The 120 MPs of Kosovo traveled to Tirana to join together in the first large Assembly of Albanians. A symbolic meeting to remember the 110th anniversary of the day when the Albanians of Albania and Kosovo came together to declare Independence.

The messages of the presidents of the 2 parliaments, but also the messages of the presidents of the parliamentary groups of the parties across the border, converge at the same point, the formal borders should not prevent the 2 states from continuing to support each other. Prime Minister Kurti gives the same message.

“If we stop trying, if we stop working, we immediately run a risk, so the risk is inaction, not action”. said Kurti.

Prime Minister Rama starts his speech by bringing some facts about which there has been no public analysis according to his point of view: The tragic fate of most of the signatories of Independence.

“It belongs to our institutions, to place this in books and in common spaces, to those 40 men without whom the majlis of our history is not known what it would be like”. said Rama.

But Rama, while listing all the arguments that prove that the Albanians in all the Balkan states where they are majority or minority, are in a very favorable position in international relations, remembers that the war does not stop among themselves, just like 110 years ago.

“Again even today, I don’t believe that Albanians are better in relation to themselves”, Rama said.

The 2 Prime Ministers Rama and Kurti also spoke about the concrete projects that have been implemented thanks to the agreements signed in the 8 joint meetings of the 2 governments.

“We already have the common primer and are working on the common vocabulary, we have jointly financed the feasibility of the Durrës-Prishtina railway which will connect Durrës, the Port of Albania and Kosovo with the Dry Port in Pristina”, said Kurti.

“Despite all the chatter at the beginning of the second 6 months of next year we will be on the construction site, in the new port of Porto Romano. On December 12, I hope you will join us for the big public presentation of the final project.” said Rama.

But on this big day for both countries, Edi Rama thinks that there are 2 people who are missing from this panorama.

“Ibrahim Rugovën, a big absentee today, Hashim Thaçi who is separated from us temporarily with an ongoing mission”, said Rama.

When Prime Minister Rama took the floor, the chief democrat Berisha and the deputies who support him left the hall. He gave his reasons in the courtyard of the Assembly.

“I left to represent the opposition people. Edi Rama has stabbed Kosovo in the back”, Berisha expressed.

The proposal from the socialist majority is that the next meeting between the two parliaments be held on June 10 next year to celebrate together the 145th anniversary of the League of Prizren.
