Prime Minister: We are working so that the region is not a hotbed of conflicts

Prime Minister Rama calls the times the world is living in difficult, but sees the Western Balkans in a more favorable position in the international arena.

In an interview with the Montenegrin media “A Plus TV”, the head of the Albanian government spoke at length about the situation in the Balkans.

“I think we all have to prepare for the fact that it will become more difficult, because things are getting more and more complicated on every front. But I am optimistic, because the Western Balkans has never been in a combat position.”

Prime Minister Rama has commented on the Kosovo-Serbia conflict as well as his relationship with President Vucic.

“I followed President Vučić’s last statement from Davos and I think it was quite respectful given the way he expressed the need to move forward. President Vucic and I always have different views on the Kosovo issue. However, I think that in the meantime things are progressing”.

Rama described himself as a special politician in the region and to support this idea he gave an example.

“I am, for example, a very good friend of George Soros and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and this is an even higher level of conflict, let’s say it’s a global duel.”

Rama also spoke about the Open Balkan project, economic topics related to the cooperation between Albania and Montenegro as well as the countries of the Western Balkans.
