Deputies of the Democratic Party have gone to Police Stations 1 and 2 in Tirana to support those detained by the police.
In a statement to the media, MP Oerd Bylykbashi said that all the detained protesters will be released because they were not doing anything illegal.
“I am sure that all those citizens who can be accompanied will be released because they are illegal detentions, because nothing illegal happened. It is a fundamental right to protest. Edi Rama and anyone who comes after him has a clear message, we are here to stand by every democrat who protested”. Bylykbashi said.
As for the protest announced on Monday, he said that the Democrats will show that the Parliament does not function as a notary of the Prime Minister.
“On Monday we will be there to protest because you know that Rama is trying to dissolve the Parliament, will hold the DP group hostage and expel the MPs. We are there to show that that Parliament does not function as Rama’s notary, or Rama surrenders without a vote to be impeached or with democratic forms”concluded Bylykbashi./broread
