Prime Minister Edi Rama asks the Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres, for clarification about the statement he made about the Ohrid agreement, where he avoided the names of Kosovo and Serbia.
In a reaction on social networks, Rama says that he hopes that this is a slip, as otherwise it would be unacceptable that the statement talks about the normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade, avoiding the names of the two countries.
“A serious mistake or a slip. Its official name is “Agreement towards the normalization of Kosovo-Serbia relations” and it would be unacceptable if the Secretary General did not deliberately use the correct name. Please clarify immediately.” writes Rama.
Kosovo has not yet joined the UN, so it does not officially recognize it as an independent state.
‘Belgrade and Pristina’?! A serious mistake or a lapse? The official name of it is ‘The Agreement on the Path to Normalization between Kosovo and Serbia’, and it would be unacceptable if the SG did not use this proper name deliberately. Please provide clarification promptly. pic.twitter.com/n48UMyklS1
