Prime Minister Edi Rama has continued his official working visit to Athens. This Tuesday he met with the speaker of the Greek Parliament, Constantine Tassoulas. Rama said that the relations between the two countries are very good and constantly improving.

“Our relations are very good and constantly improving. The mutual desire to strengthen these relations every day is very great and the basis of these relations are undoubtedly our two peoples and the strong bridges between us are both the Greek citizens living in Albania and the Albanian citizens living in Greece“, Rama said.

Meanwhile, the Greek Speaker of Parliament said that the Greek minority in Albania and the Albanian community in Greece are a bridge between the two countries.

“If we discuss today the political side of our relations within this level, which are our relations, either the organizational side or the inspirational side, they will lead us to the inspiration of these relations, having as an irreversible bridge the Greek minority in Albania, and the Albanian community in Greece. In the last visit of the Greek Prime Minister to Dervician, accompanied by Mr. Prime Minister, very precise words were heard about the progress of Albania, about the prosperity of the Greek minority in Albania and about the European perspective of your country. All these are identified. Only from the fund of the conference, Mr. Prime Minister, from the program in the field of agriculture these 40 years, Greece benefited about 200 billion Euros. So your country rightly aims to move towards European integration. Our country rightly supports Albania’s European journey. By right, both our countries having connecting bridges are moving forward. With these thoughts, with the confirmation and being sure of the improvement of our relations, of the improvement of the life of the Greek minority in Albania and the improvement of the standard of living in Albania in general, I welcome you to the Hellenic Parliament”. Tassoulas said.

At the end, some gifts were exchanged between the two and there were also jokes.

“This is after MPs fight in parliament and when you go to dinner at home, this is my wine. It is very good after the sessions“, said Rama, creating laughter among those present.

Rama was accompanied in this meeting by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj.

We remember that the night before, the head of the government opened an exhibition in Athens. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mistotakis and Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias also participated in the ceremony./broread
