Sydney Roosters fullback James Tedesco and his new wife Maria Glinellis are expecting their first child.

The newlyweds shared the good news in a joint announcement to Instagram on Tuesday. 

‘Our family is growing! We can’t wait to meet our baby girl in October,’ they wrote in the caption. 

The accompanying photo showed James gently cradling his wife’s growing baby bump.

A second slide depicted an ultrasound video of their little girl kicking away in the womb.

The couple’s announcement was soon inundated with well-wishes from their famous friends.

‘Well done brother,’ wrote former NRL star Beau Ryan.

‘Congrats guys!! How good,’ added Penrith Panthers star Nathan Clearly alongside a red love heart emoji.

‘Congratulations darling,’ wrote The Bachelors Olena Khamula

‘Congrats guys! How good!’ added Cronulla Sharks player Dale Finucane.

Cricketer Nathan Lyon’s wife Emma also joined the chorus, adding her congratulations, as did Sydney Rooster star Sam Walker.

The pair were married in January in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales surrounded by family and friends.

They enjoyed their engagement party at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel in Sydney.

They celebrated into the evening with cocktails, heartfelt speeches, a DJ and the cutting of a statement cake. 

In July, James, who won the Dally M Player of the Year Award in 2019,  splashed out $5million on a sprawling home in Sydney’s Hunters Hill where the pair will live. 

The NSW Blues and Roosters captain bought the five-bedroom, five-bathroom residence with his fiancé in June, reported The Daily Telegraph.

Located in one of the most sought-after North Shore postcodes, the ultra-modern resort-style spread last went under the hammer in 2014 for $3.25million.

Maria posted similar pictures on her own account with an emoji of a diamond ring and added: ‘You make me the happiest girl, now and forever.’ 

The couple have rarely spoken of their relationship in public, but Maria has often posted pictures of them together on social media.

The Glinellis family are hospitality entrepreneurs, co-owning Ironwood Coffee on Sydney’s lower north shore.
