Sarah Snook reveals why fans relate to her Succession character Shiv ahead of the show’s season finale

Sarah Snook has revealed why fans relate to her Succession character Shiv ahead of the HBO drama’s season finale.

The Australian actress, 35, told Marie Claire Australia she believes people find her character empowering.

‘I think people find something empowering about her being such a b**ch. Well, she’s not a b**ch, but … she is a b**ch,’ she explained.

‘They find her seeming lack of empathy and the way she’s pursuing her dreams quite empowering.’

She continued: ‘Shiv is complex because she’s human, not because she’s a woman. I like that about her.’

Sarah also hinted at some surprises during the show’s season finale.

‘We knew it would be the final series [while filming], however, the way the series ends, a number of the cast felt it was left somewhat ambiguous,’ she added.

It comes after Sarah said she felt ‘sad and disappointed’ when she found out season four of Succession would be its last, in a new interview last month.

The actress, who is currently expecting her first child with husband Dave Lawson, admitted that the cast ‘weren’t ready to be done’ with the HBO drama.
