EXCLUSIVE: Republican dropout Tim Scott’s new girlfriend Mindy Noce and her ex-husband Peter were sued over $1.2million ‘shell and sham’ scheme involving their company Bravas Partners in 2017

The murky financial past of GOP dropout Tim Scott‘s new girlfriend has been laid bare in court papers unearthed exclusively by DailyMail.com.

Mindy Noce, 47, was accused of helping tech entrepreneur ex-husband Peter ‘Jay’ Noce create shell companies to hide their assets and avoid liability over a $1.2million deal gone wrong, according to documents filed in 2017.

At the same time, she was divorcing her former spouse, blaming the collapse of their marriage on his heavy drinking and opioid abuse.

Mom-of-three Noce was revealed last week as Scott’s mystery girlfriend when he embraced her on stage after the Republican presidential debate in Miami.

‘She was at my kickoff when I announced my candidacy back in May, Scott, 58, told ABC News.

‘So the good news is we continue to have a healthy relationship, thankfully, both love the Lord and have a healthy respect for one another, and I tell you, we have a lot of fun together.’

Previously he had only referred to the interior designer and registered Republican as ‘a lovely Christian girl’ who enjoyed playing pickleball.

After the debate they returned to South Carolina for the weekend. Scott was seen at his new squeeze’s $2.5million, five-bedroom house on exclusive Daniel Island on Friday evening and again on Saturday morning.

But then on Sunday – just four days after the debate – Scott shockingly dropped out of the race for the White House, catching even his staff off-guard with his shock announcement on Fox News.

He told Trey Gowdy: ‘I am suspending my campaign. I think the voters who are the most remarkable people on the planet have been really clear that they’re telling me, ‘Not now, Tim’.’

According to the court papers DailyMail.com discovered in Moncks Corner, South Carolina – 30 miles north of Charleston – Mindy and Peter Noce were sued in 2017 over a mysterious company they owned called Bravas Partners LLC.

Valley Printing, a company based in Bingley, England, bought a 10 per cent stake of Bravas in 2015 for $1.2million, but, the British company alleged, the Noces then shut it out refusing to give access to company records.

Valley also claimed the Noces formed two other companies Wild Dunes Investments and Beresford Creek Holdings that were companies ‘without capital or assets’.

The filing said Wild Dunes was ‘an alter ego and/or shell company of Peter Noce Jr and Melinda Noce used to shelter assets’ – and Beresford was ‘a mere shell and sham company without capital and assets’.

The couple conceived those companies ‘as a device to avoid individual and personal liability for wrongdoings in Bravas’, Valley claimed.

The British firm also claimed the couple used some of the cash invested to lavish on themselves with expensive vacations and private aircraft – and requested the court hold them in breach of contract.

The case was eventually settled out of court in 2018.

At the same time that that case was going on, Mindy was in the throes of divorcing her husband accusing him of being an opioid-addicted drunk, separate court records show.

In her divorce petition, she described herself as a ‘homemaker’ and stated there was ‘no reasonable hope of a reconciliation of the marriage’.

She said she was filing for divorce ‘on the ground of habitual drunkenness’. She later amended her grounds to having been living apart for more than a year.

‘The husband has a long history of abusing pain medications including oxycodone, hydrocodone, and abusing Xanax,’ she claimed.

‘The husband also abuses hard liquor in combination with the pain medication.

‘The husband’s substance abuse and addictions have caused the wife and the children tremendous distress.’

Their three children were 15, 14, and 9 at the time.

‘The wife is informed and believes that the Husband’s habitual drunkenness and drug abuse has caused the breakdown of the marriage.’

Her filing added that Mindy had ‘pled’ with Peter to get help for substance abuse and he attended rehab in California in April 2017 but didn’t complete the program.

She gave her monthly spending as $11,568, which included $2,000 on miscellaneous gifts, tithe and personal articles, $1,572 on entertainment, $2,000 on food and household supplies, and $2,919 on ‘maintenance for household’.

The glamorous design consultant for an upscale real estate firm had been living with her ex in a magnificent $8million estate in one of the most desirable sections of Daniel Island, an exclusive community bordering Charleston.

Mindy walked away with $2,181,000 and spousal support of $9,500 a month from the marriage, according to court documents obtained by DailyMail.com.

The final agreement filed in January 2019 detailed her spousal support but added: ‘Alimony shall be terminated upon death of the parties, Mindy’s remarriage or her cohabitation per SC law’.

Scott’s suspension of his 2024 campaign came just four days after he was smiling broadly as he introduced Mindy to the world as his girlfriend following months of speculation.

He held her hand in a touching moment and described the College of Charleston graduate as ‘great’ when quizzed about her. He later confirmed to DailyMail.com the couple had been dating for about a year.

Previously he had kept the identity of his girlfriend a closely guarded secret since the start of his campaign, describing her only as ‘a lovely Christian girl’.

However, the bliss on display is in stark contrast to the continuing troubles of Mindy’s ex-husband.

Peter Noce is currently embroiled in further litigation turmoil over large chunks of money given to him to invest.

A Berkeley County judge has just ordered him to pay $1.8million to a former Hollywood script editor now living in the Charleston area who handed over $250,000 for an investment that never materialized, according to court documents.

And he has also just had a judgment against him over a $300,000 investment by a leading Charleston ear, nose and throat specialist that was allegedly ‘misappropriated’, according to documents obtained by DailyMail.com.

Attempts to contact Peter Noce for comment were unsuccessful. Mindy Noce did not respond to a request for comment.
