This genius Christmas trick will halve your wrapping time: ‘I’ll never use paper again’

Australians have discovered a ‘genius’ method to halve your Christmas prep time – and it’ll also save you hundreds of dollars over the years.

Many have abandoned traditional wrapping paper in favour of handy re-usable drawstring gift bags – which look sleek and take seconds to assemble.

A mum recently shared that she wrapped 50 presents in under an hour by simply placing them in the bags and pulling the strings.

‘Wrapping presents was my most hated job at Christmas and this has revolutionised it,’ she said in a post. ‘They are re-usable so quite eco-friendly! I got mine from Amazon, $20 for 50, different sizes. I will never wrap a present in paper again!’

Hundreds of others have praised the bags for making wrapping so quick and easy.

‘I have dexterity issues so these bags have been a godsend for me,’ a woman said. ‘I’ve used them for around five years and everyone loves them.’

‘My gran has been using these for years and I’ve re-used the ones I’ve been given,’ another added.

‘Bonus is also they are great for disguising things,’ a mum said.

The bags are available online at Amazon, Kmart, and various other gifting retailers.

Those who are worried about waste have also discovered several ways in which they can use the bags.

‘You can get them for birthday presents as well – not just Christmassy ones,’ a man wrote.

‘These are amazing, makes wrapping so easy! We have used and reused them for the last two years,’ another said.

But others slammed the ‘thoughtless’ hack.

‘Looks so cheap and not thoughtful at all,’ one claimed.

‘My kids love unwrapping and ripping paper off, the bags might save me time but part of their enjoyment is taking ripping of the paper,’ a mum said. ‘Bags don’t come close.’

‘Am I the only one who actually likes wrapping and sticking bows and curling ribbon on literally each and every present, then writing the labels out for everyone?’ one asked.
